Los
Angeles, June 6, 2006 - Azteca America, the fastest-growing
Hispanic television network of the United States, announced
today that its programming is available on the Time Warner
Cable systems in Laredo, Brownsville-McAllen, El Paso, San
Antonio and Corpus Christi, effective since June 1.
"These cable carriage agreements are expected to represent
considerable gains in our cable coverage, and consolidate
our presence in Texas," said Luis J. Echarte, Chairman of
Azteca America. "This is a tribute to the tenacity and business
sense of our friends at Una Vez Más and Time Warner."
The Brownsville-McAllen, San Antonio and Corpus Christi
markets correspond to existing over-the-air stations KNDF,
KVDF and KYDF. The Laredo and El Paso markets are new to
Azteca America. The signals are available to consumers through
Time Warner's basic cable service. All markets are operated
by Azteca America's Una Vez Más affiliate station group.
"We continue to consolidate our operations in Texas because
it's a primary target for Una Vez Más and a natural market
for Azteca America," said Terry Crosby, CEO of Una Vez Más.
The station group currently has 17 stations with Azteca
America, making it the largest affiliate station group of
the network.
