GOVERNOR SCHWARZENEGGER TALKS TO ARMANDO GUZMAN AT “ISSUES: CARAS Y VOCES”

Los Angeles, October 9, 2007 – Azteca America, the fastest-growing Hispanic television network in the United States, is proud to have hosted California's Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, last night, at the second segment of “Issues: Caras y Voces,” a political forum hosted by veteran Latino journalist Armando Guzmán.

During a very candid conversation with Armando, Governor Schwarzenegger said he is not looking to have a political career, and firmly denied that he may be contemplating to run for a U.S. senate seat after his term as Governor of California expires in 2010.

“I dreamt of governing California and never looked for a political career, and since I cannot run for the presidency, there is no next step for me,” said the Governor.

In California 1 out of every 4 residents is foreign born and for Californians immigration is one of the most pressing issues. Concerning the current immigration crisis, Governor Schwarzenegger, urged the U.S. to take advantage of “A supply and demand situation that matches perfectly, so why do we have the Federal Government standing in the way?” “The most important thing,” the Governor added, “Is that we have so many Mexican people who want to work in the United States and look for opportunities here, and we have so many companies in the United States that want to go out of the U.S. and hire workers legally.”

The Governor also said that he believes President George W. Bush is committed to a comprehensive immigration reform, but at the same time he believes that the government has to do more because “People in the Unites States, don't trust the government anymore when it comes to immigration issues, don't trust them at all.”

“Immigrants in the U.S. ... Want to drive legally, own bank accounts legally, send money legally and do everything legally, that is really the issue”

Governor Schwarzenegger also pledged that during the next year he, along with other governors from the border area between Mexico and the U.S. will lobby in Washington and Mexico City for comprehensive solutions to many of the issues that are pressing between the two countries, such as the long delays to cross the border not only from Mexico to the United States, but now also from the United States to Mexico.

Don't Miss “Issues: Caras y Voces” Mondays during the transmission of Noticiero Azteca America , at 11:00 pm / 10:00 pm CST, with Tuesday repetitions at 10:00 am / 9:00 am. Webcast repetitions will be available as of Nov.1 at www.aztecaamerica.com/corporate.
