CARDINAL ROGER MAHONEY ON AZTECA AMERICA 'S “ISSUES: CARAS Y VOCES”

Los Angeles, April 16, 2008 – Azteca America, the fastest-growing Hispanic television network in the United States, is proud to feature Cardinal Roger Mahoney on this week's broadcast of “Issues: Caras y Voces” (Issues: Faces and Voices), hosted by veteran Latino journalist Armando Guzmán.

Cardinal Roger Mahoney was appointed Archbishop of Los Angeles by Pope John Paul II on July 16, 1985. Later on, Pope John Paul II created him a cardinal June of 1991. Born in Hollywood , Cardinal Mahoney is the first native Angeleno and the third Archbishop of Los Angeles to be created a Cardinal.

After a visit to Mexico 's Basilica de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, a young roger Mahoney decided to devote his life to the church. Cardinal Mahoney has not only served as a spiritual guide for the Latino community of Los Angeles , but has also become an advocate for immigrant rights.
